What is Fat Grafting?
Fat grafting combines liposuction and injecting adipose or fat cells to different areas of the face. Liposuction uses a cannula or suction device to remove fat from underneath the skin. This fat is then processed in an external system and prepared for injection into regions that need volume. Fat grafting allows for smoothing of areas around the face and an ability to shape a natural look and feel. Autologous fat, or fat from your own body, replaces like with like and avoids the need to use synthetic rejuvenation. Skin contracture and volumization are two of the many growing uses of facial fat grafting. Volume loss can be particularly noticeable around the jawline, cheeks, and eyes, leaving fat grafting as a key component to a facial rejuvenation strategy.
