What is Blepharoplasty (Upper Eyelid Surgery)?

A blepharoplasty or eyelid lift on the upper portion of the eyes aims to tighten any areas of loose or sagging skin that may create folds. These droopy segments of skin can make a patient appear more tired than they really are, while sometimes also affecting or distorting vision.

The Procedure

An incision is made above the eyelid along natural creases in the skin folds. Skin is generally removed along with fat deposits. Muscles underneath this incision line can also be tightened depending on the extent of the laxity. Scars are hidden purposefully in a natural skin crease allowing for functional and aesthetic rejuvenation without noticeable post-operative marks.
