What is Ear Lope Repair?

Ear lobes can be damaged or split due to a variety of reasons. Most commonly this occurs with heavy earrings being traumatically pulled through the piercing. Males and females can experience these issues especially under the circumstance of gauged piercings stretching and damaging the ear lobe.

What to Expect

Dr. Bartlett will make incisions to either remove excess skin or to expose viable tissue at the edge of the wounds. A ‘zig-zag’ technique is used to close these new incisions and to re-approximate ear contour and shape. Patients return home that same day and need only to come back within the week for suture removal. While this technique improves the shape and earlobe deformities, a slightly smaller lobe may be present due to tissue domain loss.
